The Sack of Balbriggan, 21 September 1920. The town was destroyed when a group of Black and Tans from Gormanstown Military Barracks carried out a reprisal burning for the IRA killing of two policemen. Shows theruins of a factory at Balbriggan. Destroying factories not only terrorised the population, but also crippled the local economy.
