The Sack of Balbriggan, 21 September 1920. The town was destroyed when a group of Black and Tans from Gormanstown Military Barracks carried out a reprisal burning for the IRA killing of two policemen. Women pushing pram loads of clothing, retrieved from their burned houses, to take to relatives or friends elsewhere.
