1721 and IHS are carved into the back. There are also three nails and four three-lashed scourges.

A suspension hole is missing from the top of the cross and below this INRI with the N and R joined. The detailed figure of Christ is in relief and below the feet there may have been a skull in relief. Symbols of the Passion of Christ carved on the front of the cross include two stars, a hammer, pincers, a chalice, a ladder, a spear and at the bottom there is a representation of crossed bones, a cock rising from a pot and a three-lashed scourge.
