NMI is committed to delivering programming that is engaged with the communities we serve. We are especially interested in the co creation of programming across all our Museum sites and collections. As part of this scheme, the NMI wishes to engage an artist who wants to work on a collaborative and socially engaged residency over two years (2021 and 2022) where they will co-create work of depth and ambition with communities, taking inspiration from the NMI collections and the buildings they are housed in. It is important to us that the residency ensures meaningful engagement and collaboration between the artist and those communities who share interest and place. The NMI is joined by other bodies on this initiative: National Library of Ireland, the National Archives, and the Beyond 2022 Project and the Military Archives. The initiative was launched by Minister Catherine Martin T.D. on Monday 22nd February.
