Late Night Openings - Hands-on History: Unconvertible Rebels
Free
Join Museum educators for Hands-on History: Unconvertible Rebels - The Women of Revolutionary Ireland, an interactive handling session with objects from the Museum's handling collection that reflect a history of women's activism during the revolutionary era of 1913-1923.
"But while Ireland is not free I remain a rebel, unconverted and unconvertible. There is no word strong enough for it. I am pledged as a rebel, an unconvertible rebel, because I am pledged to the one thing—a free and independent Republic..." - Constance Markievicz, 1922.
This after-hours handling session will feature objects, such as bullets, pamphlets and badges, that represent the many roles women filled during this turbulent period.
This drop-in handling session will run from 5:30pm to 7pm in Reception at Collins Barracks.
No booking is required. For more information, contact bookings@museum.ie or call 01 648 6453.
