we make our own histories opened at Collins Barracks on 28th February, 2024. Join us for a public programme of Artist Talks, public tours, and an 'In Conversation' series, among many other exciting events, until the exhibition's closure in August.

Public Tours 

Ireland, Then and Now: Irish Symbolism in the Museum's Collections
Tours will explore the role of the Museum and focus on artefacts on display that express Irish identity, such as the Egan Harp, William Smith O’Brien Cup, Great Seal of Ireland etc. The tour will conclude in the we make our own histories exhibition looking at how artist Anthony Haughey’s artworks, co-created with communities across Ireland, reflect Irish culture and identity today, including Dress for Akunma, A Flag for Ireland and the Young People’s Assembly Table.

Admission free, no booking required, places allocated on a first-come basis.
