Come along and listen to some Spooky tales by Storyteller Fiona Dowling at the National Museum of Ireland as part of our Halloween programme of events.

Halloween as we know it today owes its origins to the ancient festival of Samhain which celebrated the end of the Harvest season and signalled the beginning of Winter. Many traditions and customs arose at this time such as the ancient art of storytelling!

Join Storyteller Fiona Dowling as she brings her tales to life in these interactive performances as we celebrate Halloween. The performances will take place on Sunday 27 and Monday 28 October in the Museum Galleries and is suitable for families with children aged 5+. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Three sessions are available on Sunday 27 October at the following times:

Session 1:  1.30pm
Session 2:  2:30pm
Session 3:  3:30pm

Fiona Dowling, Ireland/France, is a French-Irish storyteller and visual artist who is currently living in Ballyglass, County Mayo. As a storyteller, Fiona has been bringing folktales, wisdom tales, myths, riddles and songs to primary schools, hospitals, libraries, pubs and festivals since 2009. As a visual artist, Fiona tells her own story in autobiographical comics and paintings, and creates participatory events building temporary communities around an art form.
