Drop-In: Rocks of the Stone Age! Megalithic Art

Free Admission

Come to the Learning Resource Room and learn all about Megalithic Rock Art from Stone Age Ireland! Discover all the patters, shapes and decorations that were used to decorate passage tombs in Ireland, including Newgrange and Knowth, and decorate your own ‘megalithic stone’ to bring home with you. You can also have a go at creating your own cave art handprint!

If you would like to find out more about Prehistoric and Stone Age Ireland, check out the Museum's Prehistoric Ireland exhibition or our range of resources for at home or in the classroom in our Museum at Home section.

No booking required. Located in the Learning Resource Room, First Floor. Not wheelchair accessible. This workshop is for families.

What is a Drop-In Workshop?
This summer, bring the family into the Learning Resource Room, first floor, at the National Museum of Ireland - Archaeology, and take part in a Drop-In Workshop. Each Drop-In workshop takes place for up to two hours and has a short activity that takes between 15-30 minutes to complete, however, you are more than welcome to stay as long as you wish. Every activity is based on something on display in the Museum and are designed for anyone aged 7-107! For full details of our list of Drop-In Workshops, please see our Event Calendar
