IRA prisoners and Auxiliary, Custom House burning, May 1921

A group of IRA prisoners with an Auxiliary, taken outside the Custom House after the burning 25 May 1921. Taken from under the Loop Line Bridge. Pictured from left to right- Volunteer Watchorn, from Carlow, an Auxiliary named Thompson, known as 'Tiny', Captain Wilson of Dublin, Volunteer Flood of Dublin, person unknown, and Commandant Tom Flood, the brother of Frank Flood.  The photograph was taken by an Auxiliary officer. A print of it was passed by a friend of the movement in the studio where it was left to be developed to the IRA Intelligence Department. This was a common practice availed of to identify Auxiliaries.  J. Wearen had this print made from the negative when there was a danger of the destruction of the print by wear.
