All groups that wish to visit the Museum must book in advance through the Bookings Office.
These groups include the following: International schools, colleges and universities based in Ireland or abroad, after-school groups, summer camps and language schools, tour groups and special interest groups.
Groups that arrive without a booking may not be able to enter the Museum, depending on available capacity.
All groups must provide at least one week's notice for the Bookings Office to process the booking request and check availability for the preferred date of your visit.
Our current guidelines for group visits reflect the NMI Child Protection Policy:

Due to limited capacity at the NMI – Natural History, groups are limited to a maximum of 40 people, including teachers and leaders

Bulk bookings cannot be accepted as visitor slots are limited. Due to visitor volumes, we would suggest that afternoon visits be considered for best availability

Please note that we require a supervisory ratio of one teacher/leader to every 15 students for groups with members under 18 years of age. In the case of groups with children under seven years of age, or those with special educational needs, a supervisory ratio of one teacher/leader to every 10 students is required

Group leaders must remain with their group at all times during the visit

This will be a self-guided visit as we are unable to offer guided tours at this time

Visits on Saturdays and Sundays cannot be facilitated due to reduced capacity
