Community groups

We welcome groups from within communities that wish to visit the Museum and engage with our Collections.

If you have a particular reason for visiting, are working with a specific group within the community on a project, or are interested in a particular environmental education topic or theme, please let us know. Where possible, we will advise you of any resources that we may have available to enhance your visit.

We ask all groups to contact us at least one week in advance of an intended visit to have the best chance of securing your preferred date and time.

Capacity is limited at the NMI - Natural History and the maximum group size we can accommodate is 40 people, including supervisors and leaders. Additionally, we cannot facilitate visits on Saturdays and Sundays due to reduced capacity.

Please note that we require a supervisory ratio of one supervisor/leader to every 15 group members under 18 years of age. In the case of groups with children under seven years of age, or those with special educational needs, a supervisory ratio of one supervisor/leader to every 10 children is required.
