Irish Sign Language-Interpreted Tour - Symbols of Ireland in the National Museum's Collection

A tour in the Soldiers & Chiefs exhibition

Join us for an Irish Sign Language Interpreted tour exploring examples of symbolism in Ireland. Visitors will discover how symbols have been used throughout Irish history to represent senses of identity, and how this has changed over time.

The tour will examine why certain objects, such as shamrocks and harps, were chosen to symbolize the Irish state. Visitors will also explore examples of symbols representing Ireland through cultural prisms, including sport, art and music.

This ISL-interpreted tour will start at 15:15 on Sunday, 23rd March in Reception at Collins Barracks.

No booking is required. Places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. However, priority will be given to members of the Deaf community and those who are deaf or hard of hearing.

For more information, contact bookings@museum.ie or call 01 648 6453.
