Irish Sign Language-Interpreted Tour - From Barracks to Museum: An Introduction to Collins Barracks

Free

A tour in the Soldiers & Chiefs exhibition

In recognition of International Week of the Deaf, join us for an Irish Sign Language-interpreted tour that unpacks the fascinating history of Collins Barracks.

From Barracks to Museum explores the history of the site of Collins Barracks, from its settlement by Vikings in the 12th century to its re-furbishment as the National Museum of Ireland.

Who built Collins Barracks? What were the lives like of the soldiers who called it home? Which artefacts does it house today? All these questions and more will be explored.

This ISL-interpreted tour will start at 3pm on Sunday, 29th September in Reception at Collins Barracks.

No booking is required. Places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. However, priority will be given to members of the Deaf community and those who are deaf or hard of hearing.
