This Culture Night, join us on interactive tours to discover the story of Royal Barracks (now Collins Barracks) and the lives of those in Ireland involved in World War One.
From Barracks to Museum will focus on the lives of soldiers who lived in Collins Barracks between 1706 until 1993. Learn about their daily activities, living conditions, drilling and marching practices and experiences going to war. This tour will also explore the story of Collins Barracks becoming a Museum, and will introduce visitors to some of the most fascinating artefacts in the Museum's collection.
Recovered Voices will discuss how World War One impacted the lives of Irish people. This tour seeks to demonstrate the all-encompassing nature of the war and includes stories of nurses, doctors, prisoners of war and ordinary soldiers.

6:30pm Recovered Voices: Stories and Experiences of the Irish during World War One
The tours will each run for an hour, beginning in Reception at Collins Barracks.
No booking is required. However, places are limited and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
