The woodland playground on the grounds of the Museum is a perfect place for young explorers to blast off some energy during your visit.
This award-winning playground is uniquely located in the 'sunken garden' in the woods and includes lots of natural play features and play equipment, including a giant hillside slide.
The playground, developed by Mayo County Council, was named best public playground in Ireland at the Association of Landscape Contractors of Ireland awards in 2019.
There is also ample seating for parents to sit and chat while the children play. Free parking is available in the Museum carpark.
Be sure to visit the Museum café to enjoy a hot chocolate after all of the fun and games!
