Join an experienced Museum guide to journey back in time to learn about the superstitions and traditions of Hallowe'en and the ancient festival of Samhain.

Explore the National Folklife Collection and marvel at the unique masks which were made by our rural ancestors to disguise their faces as they travelled from house to house celebrating Hallowe'en. Discover also the various games and customs which they enjoyed at this time of year.

The National Museum of Ireland - Country Life at Turlough Park, Castlebar, Co Mayo, is offering free guided tours at 2pm and 3pm on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 October.

Tours start at reception in the Museum Galleries. No booking required. Places allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
