Headford Lacemaking was added to the National Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2021.

As part of a series of public programme events in association with the new temporary exhibition Mary Anne Fanning: Remembering our Community Midwives, members of Headford Lace Project will give an illustrated presentation on the Headford Lace Project. They will also look at how lace often featured on garments for special occasions. There will be a number of items available to view which will show how lace was used as an embellishment such as the lace bonnets, a christening gown and a bonnet upcycled from a wedding gown.

For the first time in over 100 years, Headford Lace was recently made and adapted for use on a ceremonial baby christening bonnet. View this bonnet among the exhibits on display from the archive of Headford Lace. Alongside this, at 12 Noon there will be a presentation by the Headford Lace Project entitled 'Research, Revive, Reimagine'.
