The National Museum of Ireland – Country Life has an exciting new exhibition this year called The Murmur of Bees, exploring the magic of Ireland’s bees and their influence on our culture and environment.
To celebrate this exhibition, the Museum is hosting a special day-long programme of talks and demonstrations this Heritage Week, exploring the topic of beekeeping, with the Federation of Irish Beekeepers Association (FIBKA).
Learn more about these incredible creatures with the largest beekeeping organisation in the country.
Beginning with a short video presentation of St Gobnait and the Murmur of Bees which features a series of talks exploring the fascinating world of Irish bees.
There will also be a demonstration from the Mayo Beekeepers Association and a showcase of records from the Federation of Irish Beekeepers Association before the day concludes with a talk on the History of Beekeeping in Ireland. Full schedule of events are listed below:
