Drop-In Workshop: A Chime Through Time; Make an Early Medieval Hand Bell
Free Admission. No Booking Required.
Did you know that the Museum has a hand bell believed to have been used by St. Patrick? Join our drop-in workshop to learn about the use of hand bells in early medieval Ireland and the life of our patron saint, St. Patrick. Using a template and card, you can create and decorate your own early medieval hand bell, inspired by the one thought to have belonged to St. Patrick. Don't forget to visit the Treasury Exhibition to see St. Patrick’s Bell and Bell Shrine, and find the many other hand bells on display throughout the Museum.
No booking required. Located in the Learning Resource Room, First Floor. Not wheelchair accessible. This workshop is for families.
What is a Drop-In Workshop?
Bring the family into the Learning Resource Room, first floor, at the National Museum of Ireland - Archaeology, and take part in a Drop-In Workshop. Each Drop-In workshop takes place for up to two hours and has a short activity that takes between 15-30 minutes to complete, however, you are more than welcome to stay as long as you wish. Every activity is based on something on display in the Museum. For full details of our list of Drop-In Workshops, please see our Event Calendar.
