Drop-In: The Saints, Scholars, and Scribes of Ireland! Early Medieval Handling Workshop

Free Admission. No Booking Required.

Drop into the Learning Resource Room and find out more about the lives of people in Early Medieval Ireland. During this handling workshop, discover replicas of jet crosses from Yorkshire, early medieval leather shoes, and brooches for cloaks and clothes. Learn about the coming of Christianity to Ireland, and the impact it had on the valley at Glendalough by exploring our Glendalough timeline banner. Take part in some relaxing colouring activities, read through our many books about archaeology, and make sure to explore the Museum's galleries afterwards.

If you would like to find out more about Early Medieval Ireland check out our The Treasury exhibition, Glendalough; Power, Prayer and Pilgrimage exhibition, and Colmcille: Sacred objects of a Saint - 1500 years of devotion exhibiton, or our range of resources for at home or in the classroom in our Museum at Home section.

No booking required. Located in the Learning Resource Room, First Floor. Not wheelchair accessible. This workshop is for families.
