As part of the Bealtaine festival, celebrating the arts and creativity as we age, the National Museum of Ireland – Archaeology, presented a special online workshop about needle binding, which is a time correct textile technique for the Viking Age, with Ellen Hagen from the Museum of Archaeology at the University of Stavanger, Norway. During this online event, Ellen will present the history and uses of ‘Nålbindning’, or needle binding, and will demonstrate the technique for you to try at home. This online pre-recorded workshop, will be followed by a live online question and answer segment with Ellen Hagen.
