What's on for Post Primary Schools

Spring is a busy time with midterm break, Seachtain na Gaeilge, and Easter just around the corner. If you're planning school activities, the National Museum of Ireland has a great line-up of free guided tours, workshops, and resources for post-primary classes.

These sessions are designed to complement the curriculum and bring history, culture, and natural heritage to life. Whether you’re thinking of a class trip to our sites in Dublin or Mayo or looking for virtual options, we’re here to help make your planning a little easier!

Schools can visit three Museum sites in Dublin and Mayo this year. Click on a location below to see What's on for Post Primary Schools at each Museum.

The National Museum of Ireland located at Merrion Street, also known as the 'Dead Zoo', closed on 2 September 2024, so a school visit is not possible at this location. However, teachers can still book a virtual session for your school and explore the fascinating Natural History Collections through a range of classroom activities and resources.
