This tin can was made by tinsmith Michael Mongan, of the Gort-Headford-Tuam district.
The lid has a flat top and is provided with a strap handle 2 cm wide. The can is provided with a loop handle inserted in two lugs, each of which is secured by a single rivet. The handle is of stout iron wire 3 mm in diameter.
The National Museum of Ireland is delighted to launch its latest programme of guided tours, workshops and resources for primary and post primary schools for the spring term.
Public entry and exit will be through the Museum shop entrance only. The Rotunda will reopen on Sunday, January 26th.
