A group photograph of a football team made up of internees of No. 1 Camp, Ballykinlar Internment Camp, 1921. The reverse contains handwritten notes stating that this is the team which won the championship, and that medals were presented by Mr Joe McGrath after the final. It also lists the men pictured as –
Top row, from left; S. Quigley, H. Seavers, E. Brady, Harty, J. Lynch, J. Duffy, W. Kelly (Trainer)
Sitting; C. Crowley, W. Clancy, T. Dolan (Captain), J. Green, S. Haugh, A. Murtagh, D McGrath, E. Travers, T Rook.
The photographer is not confirmed, but is possibly one of a set taken by an internee, Frank McKay, who smuggled a camera into the camp without the knowledge of the British authorities. This was arranged by Joe McGrath, who also had a typewriter smuggled in at the same time.
