IRA grenade, Macroom, Co. Cork, 1920-1921

This grenade is of type which were made at a mountain dug-out foundry at Rusheen, Macroom, Co. Cork, between 1920 and 1921. Members of the 7th Battalion, 1st Cork Brigade, gave the grenades to the National Museum stating that the caps were made under the eyes of the British at a factory in Macroom.
